Brioche for Breakfast? Mmm, Yes!

We’ve had a rough week at our house.

If you have been following us for awhile, you know the roller coaster that has been my health journey. I’ve been sick for a long time, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been actively sick.

So when I was hit with an asthma attack while leaving the gym last week, I was floored. That the attack was so severe that it sent me to the hospital? Well, that’s never happened.

My asthma has been well-controlled for years. Until now.

I’ve been sidelined until I find a new pulmonologist and an allergist.

I don’t do sidelined. I’m already itching to get back to the gym.

But I’m not sidelined in the kitchen. And thanks to the amazing Manuel Monade at Bread Ahead, I was able to make this fabulous brioche loaf.

If you are not familiar with Bread Ahead, you need to be. The bakery is located in London, but they offer live classes via IGTV (Instagram), baking supplies and ingredients and cookbooks.

They even offer e-cookbooks, for around $7, to download. Don’t give me that look, I only own two. Or maybe three.

The recipe could not have been more simple, and Manuel did a great job walking me through it one step at a time with humorous quips and questions from Jemima behind the camera.

I could have plaited the braid more tightly, and tucked in my ends more securely, but I’m super pleased with this effort!
