“Don’t Stand…” & Other Songs to Quarantine By

Quick! What is your favorite song – the first one to come to your mind? Do you have one?

Most of you probably can’t name just one. There are just so many amazing tunes out there!

We all have songs that act as mile markers along our lives journeys. REO Speedwagon’s “I Can’t Fight This Feeling” was our class song in 1986. My first concert was Bryan Adams. I said good-bye to my high school boyfriend to Foreigner’s “I Have Waited So Long”. Billy Joel captured the moment for our wedding with “Just the Way You Are”, and our song was born to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'”.

Music is our go-to for everything from funerals (I want “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns N’ Roses) to Friday night happy hours, break ups to make ups.

So, when we turned on the tunes during day one of the COVID-19 shut down in Ohio, we felt inspired to create a tongue-in-cheek playlist as the soundtrack for these crazy days.

If you don’t have Spotify, you won’t be able to play the list (it will just give you a snippet), but the app is worth the download. Search in Google Play for Android users or the AppStore for iOS. The basic subscription, which includes ads, is free and only takes a couple of minutes to set up on your laptop, tablet or phone.

We are not fond of ads, so we pay $10/month for the premium subscription. Unlimited songs. Unlimited playlists.

There are 51 songs on the list as of right now – nearly 3 1/2 hours of music to make you laugh. There’s a great mix of dance tunes and quieter moments, so crank it up and let loose!

And hey! If you think of any we missed, let us know so we can add them in.
